Las Fotos Project presented “Pride” on Sat., November 18th, a one-night-only solo exhibition by Nathalie Diaz, age 16, telling the stories of youth who identify as LGBTQ+ in inner-city neighborhoods like Boyle Heights and South Los Angeles. Through intimate portraits and writings, Diaz highlighted youth advocating for LGBTQ+ visibility through political, social, and cultural change while also showing “them for who they are, thriving, positive, and influential members of our communities” (Diaz).
“It has always been taught to me to stand up for what I believe in, to stand up for human rights.”
