“Maya Womxn in LA” is a cross-generation exhibition created over the course of a semester that highlights the experiences of diasporic Guatemalan Maya women. Recognizing that the myth of erasure is harmful for Indigenous communities, this collaborative show challenges public perception by empowering young Guatemalan and Maya women to document their own stories and the stories of their communities.
